Lilac American Bully For Sale — Champion Bloodline Lilac Puppies

Vet Health CheckedRazor Edge & Gottiline BloodlinesBreeding Since 2015Ships Nationwide From Arizona

We have lilac American Bully puppies for sale from champion bloodlines: Bambino, Coco and Boston all carry the lilac dilution. Lilac is a double dilute, which means it needs two separate recessive genes to line up, and that is why it is genuinely rare rather than just marketed that way. All our puppies come from champion Razor Edge and Gottiline parents, and every one is the same price: we do not charge a color premium. See the whole litter on our American Bully puppies for sale page.

Why This One

Why Choose a Lilac American Bully

Lilac is a soft, silvery mauve-grey with a distinctly warm cast. Quite different from blue, which reads cold and slate. The giveaway is the pigment: a lilac dog has a pinkish-grey nose, light amber or green-hazel eyes, and pale paw pads rather than black ones.

It is one of the two or three coats in the breed that genuinely deserve the word rare, because it requires a specific genetic combination rather than a single gene. Both parents have to carry both recessives, and even then only a fraction of the litter will be lilac.

Related coats: lilac merle American Bully, lilac tri American Bully and champagne American Bully.

The Detail

What Makes a Lilac American Bully

Lilac is what you get when a dog is homozygous recessive at two loci at once — b/b at the B locus (which turns black pigment brown, giving chocolate) and d/d at the D locus (which dilutes that brown again). Chocolate diluted is lilac, sometimes called isabella.

Because both are recessive, both parents must carry both genes. Two lilac parents will always produce lilac; two carriers that look blue or chocolate may produce roughly one lilac in sixteen. That arithmetic is the whole reason lilac stays scarce and expensive.

The genes involved

LocusWhat it controlsRelevant alleles
BBlack vs brown pigmentB (black) dominant · b (chocolate) recessive
DDilution of pigmentD (full) dominant · d (dilute) recessive
APattern within the coatay (fawn/sable) · at (tan points) recessive

Lilac American Bully rarity and demand

Genuinely rare and consistently among the highest-priced coats in the breed. Because lilac requires two stacked recessives, it cannot be produced reliably without deliberately selecting for it over several generations.

Every kennel we know of charges more for the rarer coats. We do not. A lilac merle costs us exactly what a blue costs us to raise, so it is priced the same. Full context in the American Bully price guide and the color genetics chart.

FAQ

Lilac American Bully For Sale — Frequently Asked Questions

What is a lilac American Bully?

A dog carrying two recessive dilution genes at once. Chocolate (b/b) plus dilution (d/d) — producing a silvery mauve-grey coat with a pinkish-grey nose and light amber or green-hazel eyes.

Why are lilac American Bullies so expensive?

Because both parents must carry both recessive genes, and even then only a fraction of the litter comes out lilac. It is rarity produced by genetics rather than by marketing. Ours are still the same price.

What's the difference between lilac and blue?

Blue is diluted black. Cold, slate grey, with a grey nose. Lilac is diluted chocolate. Warmer, softer, with a pinkish-grey nose and lighter eyes. Side by side the difference is obvious; in a photograph it often is not.
