Buying an American Bully in Florida

Florida's density of breeders is genuinely an advantage. You can often visit in person, which is the single best verification there is. It also means a higher concentration of re-sellers and brokers, because volume attracts them.

If you can drive to a Florida kennel, do. Meet both parents. Look at the space the litter is raised in. Ten minutes on site tells you more than a week of messaging.

If visiting is not practical, these are the questions that substitute for it:

  1. "Can you send me a fresh video of the puppy with its mother?"
Ask for it to be recorded that day, with the date or your name written on paper in shot. A real breeder films thirty seconds and sends it. A broker cannot, because there is no litter and no dam to film. And stolen footage will not have your name in it.
  2. "What health screening did the parents have?"
The answer should name hips, elbows and cardiac, and the records should follow within the hour. "They are healthy" is not an answer.
  3. "Who is the sire, and how many litters has the dam had?"
A breeder answers instantly and by name. A re-seller does not know, and it shows in the pause.
  4. "How old will the puppy be when it leaves?"
Eight weeks minimum. Anyone offering a six-week-old puppy is either ignorant of why that matters or indifferent to it.
  5. "Can I read the contract and health guarantee before I pay?"
Both should arrive by email the same day. A breeder who will not show you the contract until deposit day is telling you something about the contract.
  6. "What happens if I cannot keep the dog in three years?"
The right answer is "bring it back to me". Anything else means the relationship ends when the money clears.
  7. "Can I visit, or speak to previous buyers?"
Neither is always practical, but both should be offered rather than deflected.

Florida-Specific Considerations for This Breed

Two things matter more in Florida than almost anywhere else we ship:

Heat and humidity

The American Bully is broad-chested and short-muzzled, which makes it a poor cooler. Humidity compounds this because panting works by evaporation. In humid air it simply works less well. The practical consequence is that heat exhaustion in this breed happens at temperatures owners assume are perfectly safe.

In Florida that means walking at dawn and after dusk from roughly April through October, always carrying water, and knowing the warning signs: heavy laboured panting, thick ropey drool, bright red gums, unsteadiness. Never leave a bully in a parked car, not even briefly, not even with the windows down.

Skin and fold care

Year-round humidity encourages fold dermatitis and yeast overgrowth, particularly in dogs with pronounced facial folds. Daily cleaning and. Importantly — drying is the whole of the prevention. Our skin problems guide covers the routine, and allergies are worth reading too, since Florida's year-round pollen load means little seasonal respite.

Red Flags to Watch For

  • Will not send a dated video. Stock photographs prove nothing, they can come from anywhere. A short video recorded on request, with the date or your name written on paper in shot, cannot be lifted from someone else's website.
  • The price drops when you hesitate. Real breeders have waiting lists. Nobody with a queue negotiates against themselves.
  • Gift cards, crypto or wire transfer only. All three are irreversible, which is precisely why they are requested.
  • Fees that appear after the deposit. A crate charge, then insurance, then a customs fee. This is the standard puppy scam script.
  • Several breeds on one website. A kennel producing bullies, frenchies and huskies is a broker, not a program.
  • "Papers are being processed." They are not.
  • No location, no landline, no kennel name. A real program has an address you could drive to.
  • Pressure. "Three other people are interested tonight" is a sales tactic, not information.

Buying From Outside Florida

Plenty of Florida families buy out of state, and it works well provided the verification is done properly. We are in Sedona, Arizona and deliver into Miami, Tampa, Orlando and Jacksonville by in-cabin flight nanny. All four take direct services from Phoenix, so a Florida delivery is usually arranged within a few days without connections.

Because of the heat, we schedule Florida arrivals for early morning through the summer months. Your puppy is in the cabin the entire journey; we do not use cargo for this breed under any circumstances.

  • Breeding since 2015 from a single kennel in Sedona, Arizona — we do not franchise the name or work through partner kennels
  • Both parents screened by a licensed veterinarian for hips, elbows and cardiac health before any pairing is planned
  • A couple of litters a year, not a couple of dozen. Every puppy is raised in the house
  • Documented Razor Edge and Gottiline pedigrees supplied with the puppy, not promised later
  • Written health guarantee and contract emailed before you are asked for a deposit
  • Fresh photos and video on request: the puppy, both parents, the room they are raised in
  • We take any dog we bred back, at any point in its life, for any reason

FAQ

Breeders in Florida — Frequently Asked Questions

Are there good American Bully breeders in Florida?

Yes, and the density means you can often visit in person. Which is the best verification available. It also means more re-sellers, so verify carefully: a dated video of the puppy with its dam, health screening records, and a written contract before any deposit.

Do you deliver American Bully puppies to Florida?

Yes, regularly. Miami, Tampa, Orlando and Jacksonville all take direct services from Phoenix, so delivery is usually arranged within a few days. Your puppy travels in the cabin with a nanny, never in cargo.

What should Florida owners know about this breed?

Heat and humidity. A short-muzzled, heavily built dog cools poorly and humidity makes panting less effective. Heat exhaustion happens at temperatures that feel safe. Walk at dawn and dusk from April to October, and keep skin folds clean and dry year round.

Is it better to buy locally in Florida or ship from out of state?

Buy locally if you find a Florida breeder who screens both parents, shows you the litter and puts the guarantee in writing. Visiting in person is genuinely valuable. If you cannot find that, distance is a smaller obstacle than most people expect.
